P2P Cryptocurrency Marketplace
A New Zealand P2P Marketplace. This platform facilitates direct cryptocurrency transactions between users, enhancing the accessibility and decentralisation of buying and selling crypto within NZ. The key features include peer-to-peer transactions, which enable buyers and sellers to interact directly, eliminating the intermediaries and fostering a truly decentralised environment. An incorporated escrow mechanism ensures secure on-chain transactions, protecting both parties until the agreed conditions are met. An automated Elo-based reputation system, which is cleverly scaled to ensure it cannot be circumnavigated by scammers easily, making it a fair and efficient way for users to get peace of mind when trading with others.
How it was built
The P2P Cryptocurrency Marketplace was built using a modern web development stack to ensure scalability, and ease of use. For the front end we used Next.js as a framework which allows dynamic and interactive interfaces and optimised performance using Tailwind CSS for styling. We used mapbox to integrate a map into the marketplace which acts as the core menu for trade listings. For the back end we used Drizzle ORM and PostgreSQL through Cockroach DB, which combines a light weight and efficient ORM for data base interactions with a powerful relational database for storing user and transaction data.
Regarding the Authentication and security, we used Auth.js. With all of this being hosted on Vercel, ensuring fast deployment and scalability, overall our tech stack is aimed to be fast and scalable. We also implemented an escrow system within the app using base smart contracts.
